Real story
A detective examining an open wallet on an evidence table. Inside the wallet: a driver's license, a credit card, a gym membership card, and a small photo. Each item is different, but the wallet holds them together as one set. Crime scene lighting, evidence markers.

Police find a wallet on the sidewalk.

Inside: a driver's license, a credit card, a gym membership, a photo of two kids.

Four different items. Four different types of information. But the wallet tells the detective one thing immediately: these all belong to the same person.

Now scatter those same four items across a city block. A license in a gutter. A credit card on a bench. A gym card in a trash can. A photo blowing down the street. Same items. No wallet.

Without the wallet, they're evidence from four different cases. With the wallet, they're one person's story.
