Comparison
Split screen. Left: a car drifting on a highway, bouncing off a sturdy metal guardrail, sparks flying, car continues safely. Right: the same car drifting on a highway with no guardrail, sailing off a cliff edge into darkness below. Same car, same drift, different outcome.

Same highway. Same speed. Same driver. Same drift.

On one highway, the driver drifts. The car hits a metal guardrail. Sparks. The car bounces back. Driver corrects. Keeps going. On the other highway, the driver drifts. There's nothing there. The car goes off the cliff.

Same mistake. One road had a barrier. The other had a suggestion: a painted line that said "please stay in your lane."

AI guardrails are the metal barrier. The AI will drift. The question is what happens when it does.
